In June Michele Thrane, Sarah Rehmer and Shelley Gilchrist attended the 6th International Encaustic Conference in Provincetown.  One of the many highlights was the hotel fair, in which participants exhibit work in their rooms . . .

Shelley and Sarah Rehmer exhibited their work in two of the dozen exhibits featuring encaustic work in Provincetown during June.  Here are photos from three exhibits:

Hot off the press, the R&F Paint  biennial exhibition catalog Encaustic Works 2012 was distributed at the conference.  Shelley Gilchrist’s portfolio spread and Alicia Forestall-Boehm’s work are included; the book is available from R & F Paint.

 

In addition, Alicia is exhibiting two monoprints in 6x6x2012 at the Rochester Contemporary Art Center in Rochester, New York.
In addition, she received a 2012 Chicago Community Arts Assistance Program (CAAP) grant.  Congratulations!

During June, Michele Thrane exhibited her painting The Chase in the Governors’  State University exhibition Ways of Making,  a national juried competition.

During June Nikkole Huss exhibited encaustic paintings in National Natural at Gallery Uno in the Fine Arts Building, Chicago.  The work was created during an artist residency at Concordia University Chicago.

Kathleen Waterloo is exhibiting new paintings in her exhibit Off the Charts at Addington Gallery through July 21.  704 N. Wells, Chicago.
