Alicia Forestall-Boehm has a fiber and encaustic vessel in the show Call and Response: From Artemisia to Frida at the Koehnline Art Museum at Oakton Community College.   The opening reception is Thursday October 6 from 5-8pm.  Through October 28.  1600 E. Golf Rd., Des Plaines.

Emily Rutledge and Jane Michalski are showing work in the  Curators’ Showcase Exhibit on the  second  floor space of The Art Center Logan Square/Avondale at 2800 N. Milwaukee Avenue.  Nine other artist/curators are also exhibiting a variety of art, including photography and video installation.  Reception October 8. 4:30 – 6:30 PM.  Through October 30.  Hours:  Sat. & Sun. 1-4PM.

In addition, Emily Rutledge is participating in the Ravenswood Art Walk, Oct. 1, 11-7, Oct. 2, 11-6 at Beyond Design, 4515 N. Ravenswood, Chicago.  She and the other exhibiting artists were featured in the first issue of Urban Confustions magazine.  You can pick up a copy of the magazine at the exhibit.  Emily also has work in Los Angeles at the Glass Studio.  The exhibit is Edges and Curves, Nothing in Between, October 7-9.   Info.

Of Land and Water artists’ reception is Sunday, October 2, 3-5PM.  Shelley Gilchrist and 4 other artists are exhibiting in this painting show, through November 8.  Noyes Cultural Arts Center, 927 Noyes St., Evanston.
